CREAKY

In the vast e-waste dump of West Africa there was a girl named Sika. Sika spent most of her time scavenging in the Piles as did most of her friends and family. Scavenging was what everyone did to survive, but Sika was different. Sika had a goal beyond more than just survival. Sika was a creator. Sika knew that if she was patient she would eventually be able to collect all the parts she’d need to make her very own robot. And with time spent studying code in the depths of the omni-net she would be able to give it a brain. 

Sika eventually got her robot built. She named it “Creaky” due to the sound it’s joints made when it moved. Sika would sometimes find Creaky (wistfully?) staring beyond the horizon. “Sloppy programming” she thought, but she also wondered - “Could I give Creaky a soul?” Legend told of the Duppy that could play a great dub that could give robots a heart and soul. But how would she find the Duppy?

In the depths of the omni-net Sika found the rhythm to the great dub. How exactly she’s not sure, one day it was just there. Sika gathered as many speakers as she could find and repair and took them to the highest point in the Piles.
