The Zoological Observation & Engagement (ZOE-9) droid was sent back in time by the humans that had managed to survive the Last Age of Man. It’s mission was to collect biological specimens to build a new earth-like ecosphere on Ganymede. ZOE-9 was designed to imitate vocalizations of animals, insects and more - as well as emit pheromones so it could get close enough to take DNA samples.
