Animikii

$20.00

“Sit down, shut up and let me touch that bottle you got.” said the old man as he reached forth with a chrome hand. Taking the bottle of 3-in-1 oil from me he took a taste for quality, then began to apply the oil to various joints in his cybernetic right arm.

As he did so he began to tell me his tale…

The old, old ones used to speak of a mountain that floated in the sky. This was the home of the Animikii, or the Thunderbirds as some call them.

The Thunderbirds protected the earth for many moons from the great horned snakes know as the Misikinubik. These snakes sought to constrict the world in their slithery grasp and draw off it’s energy.

After thousands of years of being kept at bay, the Misikinubik became more clever, as a snake is wont to do. The Misikinubik eventually charmed man into doing their work form them.

Instead of the snakes trying to constrict the Earth with their own bodies, they convinced man to do it with railways, then electric and telephone lines. Pipelines and internet cables began crisscrossing the globe. Then an invisible net was built on top of that in the form of wireless communication networks. The Great Snake Ball…

It wasn’t long before the humans couldn’t see that floating mountain in the sky and the Animikii just became another story to explain the sound of thunder.

But I’ve heard tales the Animikii are coming back. Some kids up in Cascadia with some strong medicine have figured out how to use the snake’s net. They’re using it to mix it up with the ancients. Supposedly they’ve found the sky mountain and are building a better Thunderbird…
