Taking advantage of the rise global conflict due to resource shortages Edi-Tech designed the R4-P1D. Not only was there a resource shortage, but also a shortage of humans able to fight for water, oil and uranium. Due to birth defects brought on by pandemic during the previous generation, a large segment of the “war-fighting” population were born disabled.
In steps Edi-Tech to save the day! Millions of R4-P1D units are produced and sold to governments, militaries and PMC’s. Utilizing haptic controls in addition to an AI the R4 units were able to be “piloted” remotely by a mostly bed-ridden fighting force. In 2099 most conflicts had flamed out leaving only few global powers propped up by Edi-Tech, Nile Corp and ChāoFast.
In a world left with millions of unused R4-P1D units and un-employed disabled soldiers, Nile Corp was quick to repurpose the robots and former soldiers into rapid mail order delivery personnel. Nile Corp users with a “Supreme” account could now get receive their orders within an hour - all thanks to the innovation brought forth by global conflict!
